Daivon Jones Journey

YARRP, Inc. (Young Adult Renal Resource Program) was created in honor of Daivon Jones, who is battling kidney disease. The organization was founded with a simple but powerful belief: that even in the face of serious health challenges, it is still possible to build, lead, and create something meaningful. By God’s grace and mercy, Daivon is still alive. His journey continues to inspire faith, resilience, and purpose, not only within his family but within the broader community YARRP serves.

After years of doctor’s visits, surgeries, and much pain, Daivon and his family learned that he would eventually need a kidney transplant. This moment was especially heartbreaking for his mother, coming just before Mother’s Day. When the call came that a kidney was available, it brought a mix of excitement, fear, and overwhelming emotion. After four hours of surgery, Daivon awoke and was asked how he felt. His response was simple and unforgettable: “I feel like 1 million bucks.” Daivon’s life was made possible because someone chose to register as an organ donor. His family honors the donor and their loved ones for their great loss and the precious gift they gave. Daivon continues to cherish and care for that gift, understanding the responsibility and blessing that came with it. His story is a reminder that organ donation can be the difference between life and death.

Daivon’s vision for YARRP is best expressed in his own words: “My dream has always been to help people in the best way possible. Right now, that means giving away knowledge and raising awareness around kidney disease.”
